Transparent Glass Coatings has been locally owned and operated by Donald and Eileen Hansen since 1975.

With their staff, they have installed energy efficient Llumar and Vista window films on numerous local commercial locations, such as the West Coast Santa Cruz Hotel, the Chaminade, the Old Bath House, Anton and Michel, the Seagate Campus, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the City and County Offices of Santa Cruz and Monterey. All these locations have significantly reduced their energy usage due to film installation.

T.G.C. also specializes in residential installation. Their staff is certified for installation of the latest spectrally select window films, which allow high levels of visible light, yet provide increased insulation performance and 99.9% ultraviolet rejection.

Compared to heat reflective glass or Low-E glass, spectrally select films can cost less and are a better option for many home designs. New homes are frequently designed with applied films factored in due to the flexibility it affords for glass choices.
